About

Hi there, I'm

Erin Tallent

I didn’t grow up obsessed with fishing like I am today. I grew up on a street called Riveredge, spent a lot of time in the woods, and tagged along with my dad and grandpa to cast spinning rods off docks and riverbanks. It didn’t click back then, but something about being near water stuck.

In my mid-20s, I picked up a fly rod and something shifted. The rhythm of the cast and the way it forces you to slow down and pay attention pulled me in. Fly fishing felt like this quiet, grounding thread that tied together everything I already loved: hiking, being outside, and finding awe in the natural world.

It also became a way I met people, like other women who were curious, intimidated, excited, and unsure just like me. Making those friendships wasn’t always easy, but it made the experience better every time.

Riveredge is my way of making that part easier for others. A place to learn the basics without pressure, and maybe find a new fishing friend or two along the way. You don’t need to show up with the right gear or the right words, you just need to show up.

I’ve spent a lot of time fly fishing in North Metro Atlanta, chasing fish on my local waters and escaping to saltwater for redfish, tarpon, snook, and anything else that will eat. My favorite species changes with the season, but I’ve got a soft spot for carp on the fly and redfish tailing in the grass.
